This is a brief description of some model types collected not just from one model's view
Advertising Models - Advertising models (commercial model) can be any age, any height and any size. Commercial models usually have longer modeling careers. Advertising models also has more of a variety of work to choose from.
Fashion Models / Editorial Models - Male Editorial or male fashion models also work in the major fashion magazines and do runway work for major designers. They are generally 6' 0” - 6' 2” and wear a 40 Regular jacket. Editorial male models should have their careers started before the age of 23 - 25 at the most.
Runway Models / Fashion Models / Supermodels - Female Supermodels or Fashion Models are the types of models (or runway models) that are most often thought of when most people think of models. Cover girl models in magazines like Glamour, Vogue, and Ebony are just a few. Also the models walking their perfected walk on the runway for major fashion designers such as Gucci, Calvin Klein, Versace, Chanel and others. Runway models are generally a minimum of 5' 9” - 6' 0” and start their modeling careers before the age of 20. Their average measurements are between 33-23-33 and 35 - 25 - 35. But don't let this discourage you because you can always be the one to change the industry.
Glamour Models - Female glamour model is the term generally used for female models that do modeling work such as swimsuit modeling, lingerie modeling and sometimes semi-nude modeling. Glamour models tend to be curvier and more voluptuous than editorial or fashion models.
Print Models - Female and Male print models are models that usually to short for fashion modeling or run way modeling but have beautiful or unique facial features. Print models are very hard to give specific measurement on as it varies so widely. Commercial models can do print work, television commercials, corporate and training videos, films and many other types of jobs. Good commercial models must master a wide range of looks and emotions on camera to promote their client's products |
